This was one of my first chalk wall side projects, looking back it's easy to see things I would change and tweak now, but I want to share the process I've followed as I figure out how to create better type and create it on a larger scale.

I almost always start with a sketch, I go through a few ideas until I land on one I like. I then put a grid over the design, breaking into 4-6 parts, and then I lightly chalk the grid onto the wall.

I begin chalking the basic outlines, stepping back every now and then to be sure things are looking right. Once I'm happy with the layout I finish filling in the details.
